When I see members of the staff that attended your workshop, they break out in a big smile and give me an example of something they have done to un-clutter their life or their worksite! To me, this is a real measure of success.

She adapted her talk to the areas most sought after by her audience. Nancy was inspirational. She helped spur the efforts of myself and others into making the most of our time. This was appropriate for men and women, ages 40-102.
~Sharon Arnold-Rasp Library Operations Supervisor |
I believe the program motivated everyone to unclutter and get organized. We have used all your tips and told members who were not able to attend what we learned.

I went home from the class and three banker’s boxes of paper. I am trying to do the same at the office. Today’s in box holds one paper I have not read yet.

I like the ideas you gave me of going room by room. Deciding what to use & what not. What do to with junk mail & how to stop from getting it? Everyone is still talking about it.

You involved the audience and put humor into your presentation. The examples given were something we could all relate to.

I want to thank you once more for your clutter class. I was as if you switched a light on in my mind and I began seeing excess stuff in a whole new way. Since your class I have complete 95% of my kitchen with just the under the sink cabinet to go. Once I started I couldn’t stop! My kitchen is a much more enjoyable place. I may even have a guest over for Thanksgiving! Thank you so much for your expertise, professionalism and wisdom. You have made a big difference in my little world.

Perhaps the most practical hint I learned, and the easiest to accomplish was setting up my desktop like a neighborhood. The area in the very center and closest to wear I sit has been designated as my “Prime Property” area. I rearranged my desk to include the things I use frequently to be stored in my prime property section and within easy reach. This has doubled my efficiency when working and multi-tasking.

A city employee who attended your last Clutterology seminar here, acted on your advice. She cleaned up her cubicle at City hall. After nine years in the same cubicle, it was the first time the top of her desk was visible. The change was so dramatic that the next week the director of personnel stopped in to see her. Evidently several people had asked the Personnel director if she was leaving.

I came home & tossed out so much “stuff”. This just scratched the surface. You didn’t try to tell us “we” needed to change. You didn’t go on & on & on about what clutter was or why either, other than the junk mail. This prevented being on the defensive & allowed me to open up to listen to what you had to tell me. All of which was useful into. Thank You. G-d Bless You.

Useful/practical application to daily life of class content. You were great Nancy! Thanks.

That is a day [of the class] that really had a significant impact on my life. I especially applied your rule of if you don’t use an item within a year, get rid of it because you’re not likely to use it.

"I truly was inspired, as my “uncluttered” kitchen/dining room now shows. I FINALLY understand the adage “It is easier to keep it clean/organized/uncluttered than to continually have to clean/organize/unclutter it” It’s kept clean . . . and pity on the poor soul in the household that leaves their stuff there! I’m tackling my “living room” which is the “music room” and the “office” and library” these next few days. Your class made me:
1) willing to consider trying to organize it and 2) ideas on how to do it. " ~Valerie Elliott |
